Exploring new ways to present classical music is The Gildas Quartet. Compare and contrast your experience with a seated performance in the first half, and in the second half enjoy ‘surround sound’ as you move between the players exploring new sounds, playing and balance.

The Quartet's bold and explorative approach to performance has been recognized by the International Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition, Graz, where they won First Prize in the Audience Engagement Award 2018. The Quartet have given recitals at Wigmore Hall, Bridgewater Hall, Purcell Room and on BBC Radio 3. They have performed internationally and are renowned for their projects that actively encourage concerts to blur the lines of what is expected, from short one-work ‘pop-up’ concerts in unusual settings to full length recitals, with the audience literally in the midst of the players, in surround sound.

Event Information:

Doors will open at 7pm for a 7:30pm start.

Seating is arranged in unreserved cabaret style.
