In Harrogate, Knaresborough, Boroughbridge and Ripon there is free on-street parking via a disc parking scheme.

An Introduction to Disc Parking

Using disc parking you can park for free, for periods between 30 minutes and 4 hours.

Disc parking works by clearly displaying your arrival time on a parking disk when you park your car.  The permitted period for which you can park will be displayed clearly on nearby signage, along with any limitation for returning to the disc parking zone to begin a new parking session on the same day.
