This summer holidays at RHS Garden Harlow Carr, visit a resort with a difference: The Grand Bug & Pest Hotel.
Lloyd the housefly and friends have booked a stay at the hotel, but Lloyd has lost the map. Can you help them reach their fabulous vacation destination? Have fun on the Grand Bug & Pest Hotel Hunt trail with Aardman’s new interactive app, and enjoy fun, family-friendly activities all summer long.
The Grand Bug & Pest Hotel Hunt family trail
Daily, Saturday 22 July – Sunday 3 September
9.30am – 6pm, self-led trail
Follow the trail around the garden and see if you can spot Lloyd the housefly and some of his friends along the way.

Nature House forest school
Every Monday, 24 July – 28 August
10am – 12.30pm & 1pm – 3pm, around the garden
Have fun outdoors while trying something new. Enjoy a range of insect-themed activities led by our Forest School.
Adventure walks with the Garden Detectives
Every Tuesday and Thursday, 25 July – 31 August
11am, 1pm & 3pm, meet at the Learning Centre
Join the Garden Detectives for some summer mischief and connect with nature on our insect-inspired family walks.
Wellbeing yoga
Every Wednesday, 26 July – 30 August
11am, 1pm & 3pm, Kalmia Lawn
Take time to chill out with family-friendly yoga sessions.
Animation workshops*
Wednesday 26 July, 2, 9 and 16 August
Sessions at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm
Create your own short stop-motion animated film with an animation expert using the free Animator app. Make and keep your model, and at the end of the workshop, share the animated film you’ve created with us for inclusion in an extended video.

Paris Bubbles put on a magical show blending science, art and fun. Watch as they create giant bubbles, amazing shapes and creatures.
Bricks4kids (clay modelling)

11am – 3pm, Kalmia Lawn
Using clay create your own insect model to take home and paint.
Circus skills with Circus Sensible
Friday 11 August
10am – 12noon & 1pm – 3pm, Kalmia Lawn
Including 30 minute demos and drop-in workshops. Learn to juggle, practise some tricks and test your balance with beginners stilts plus lots more.
Bricks4kids (Lego)
Friday 18 August
11am – 3pm, Event Marquee
Make your very own insect model out of Lego.
Ukulele workshop
Friday 25 August
11am, 1pm & 3pm, Kalmia Lawn
Suitable for total beginners of all ages. If you have your own ukulele, please bring it along, but we’ll also have plenty of ukuleles for you to borrow.
Claro orienteering
Friday 1 September
10am – 3pm, starting from the Winter Walk
Put on your walking boots, polish up your compass and head off on an exciting orienteering adventure. How quickly will you complete the course?

Discover RHS Harlow Carr By Bus
This summer, take the extended X6 summer bus service to RHS Garden Harlow Carr and save 30% on your visit. From 22 July – 3 September, the X6 bus runs throughout the day, every day from Harrogate Bus Station, connecting you with the garden in only 15 minutes.
Tickets for the bus are available to purchase on-board from just £2, so you can save money and see more with a great day out at the garden.
