Ripon Community Orchestra Summer Concert. Bishop Monkton Village Hall, Tuesday the 2nd July at 8pm

Summer Concert, Ripon Community Orchestra, conducted by Xenophon Kelsey.

We are playing a selection of music including, movements from Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite Op. 71a, Mazurka and Galop from Masquerade Suite by Khachaturian, the Andante from Schubert's 9th Symphony, Ewazen's Four Royal Dances for Strings, Elgar, Une Idylle for Solo Violin and Orchestra, played by Grace Hughes and Dances for Wind, Seiber arranged by Xen Kelsey. Tea and cakes will be served. Admission free but donations welcome.


Ripon Community Orchestra is a local amateur orchestra and is designed to give players of all ages orchestral experience, so that they can enjoy making music together. We meet on Tuesday evenings in term time at Bishop Monkton Village Hall from 7.30 to 9.30pm. You can come to a rehearsal on a Tuesday, free of charge, to try us out.The standard is roughly grade 5 or above. We are directed by Xenophon Kelsey, who has a wealth of experience as a conductor and instrumentalist.
