Join Mellor & Rose at Ripley Castle, Harrogate in North Yorkshire on Tuesday July 16th from 10:30am - 1:30pm on their Modern Calligraphy Masterclass with Summer Botanical Theme!

Guided by expert tutors; Beverly Mellor and Lucy Mellor, we'll begin our day of Calligraphy by learning the core fundamentals of this beautiful and calming art form. We’ll master techniques including how to hold a dip pen, using dipping ink, learning pressure strokes and rhythms which gives calligraphy those characteristic contrasting strokes before moving on to learning the Calligraphy Script Alphabet, how to link letters, first words and phrases- all exciting! We'll learn how to draw with our dip pen including decorative illustrations and flourishes to complement our calligraphy and also lettering up stationery pieces; cards and gift tags. The second half of the Workshop covers elements of Design; how to layout greetings cards, letter up and design a piece of seasonally themed wall art along with luxury stationery items.

The 3 hour workshop includes a fully comprehensive and personalised Calligraphy Box with Starter Kit, Mellor & Rose Calligraphy Workbook, Luxe Stationery items for your Calligraphy- yours to keep forever (and ever!) to practice with at home. Also included are Refreshments and access to the stunning Grounds and Gardens here at Ripley Castle.
