CWGC Commonwealth Day Tours - Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate
For Commonwealth Day, join us on a guided tour of the war graves of personnel from across the Commonwealth at Stonefall Cemetery, Harrogate.
With over 1000 Commonwealth War Graves, Stonefall Cemetery is one of the largest Commonwealth War Graves Commission sites in the North of England. Nearly all of the casualties are airmen from the Second World War.
To mark Commonwealth Day, join us for a walk around the cemetery to learn about the work of the CWGC and the stories of casualties from East Africa, Fiji, the Caribbean, Canada, Australia and New Zealand who are buried at Stonefall.
Tours take place at 10:30, 11:00, 13:00 and 13:30.
Please note: The starting point for the tour is in front of the Crematorium.
Please come dressed for the weather. The tour involves walking on grass as well as paths and will last for approximately 90 minutes.
You can park within the cemetery (be mindful that the gates for vehicles are locked at 1600 at weekends and 1630 weekdays). There is a public toilet near the main entrance from Wetherby Road.
