An Audience with Barrie Rutter
With over 50 years of experience on stage and screen, Barrie has had a fascinating career which has taken him to China, India, Brazil and Skipton Cattle Market with all points in-between.
His belief that the Northern voice was a vibrant sound to embrace the energy of Elizabethan England led to the creation of one of the most successful companies in British theatre.
A recipient of the 2003 Sam Wanamaker Award, Barrie joins us for this very special evening as he shares his wealth of memories and his passion for language and the theatre.
“Barrie Rutter is one of the reasons why there are so many amazing theatre companies in the greater north nowadays – he is a genuine trail blazer.” Alan Lane, Artistic Director, Slung Low
Presented in partnership with Ripon Poetry Festival.
