About Sanctuary Way Walking Trail

The Sanctuary Way in Ripon is a way-marked trail that follows the original boundary of the Sanctuary granted to Ripon in 937AD. Created in 2005, the trail features three routes ranging from 4 to 10 miles, with new sanctuary markers and interpretation boards sharing the city's rich history. The full circuit explores Ripon’s rural edges, including rivers, farmland, and a nature reserve, with several picnic spots along the way. A guide and map are available for download to help navigate the route.
