The Sound of Musicals
ABOUT THE CONCERT
The concert will take you on a stroll through the feel-good musicals of the 1940s, 50s and 60s, often known as the Golden Age Musicals. Our 50-strong choir will be bringing you favourites from Oklahoma, The King and I, The Sound of Music, South Pacific, A Chorus Line, to name just a few. But Harrogate Theatre Choir will also meander into the modern era with songs from Wicked, Sister Act, The Greatest Showman and many more.
If you are a Musical Theatre fan, you are in for a treat!
The concert is supporting Otley Community Larder, one of the key projects of OTLEY 2030. The overall aim of OTLEY 2030 is to bring the town together to create climate-friendly and sustainable communities where people and nature thrive together. Otley Community Larder aims to reduce food waste by collecting surplus food from local retailers and distributing it within the local community.
‘Our aim this year is to raise funds for local charities that are important to the towns or villages in which we are performing, and Otley Community Larder fits the bill perfectly on this occasion’, says Harrogate Theatre Choir’s Chair, Andrew Forsyth.
