Sports Cars in the Park, Newby Hall
The largest celebration of sports and super cars in the North returns to Newby Hall, Ripon and organisers are anticipating their biggest show yet.
Sports Cars in the Park is a firm favourite with sports car owners and enthusiasts as well as visitors looking for a great day out. Started by Yorkshire businessman Chris Crossley because he was fed up with all the good car events being held in the south, the show is staged in the magnificent setting of Newby Hall’s parkland. It is a very friendly Yorkshire event with car owners happy to talk about their cars.
The show brings together exhibits from car clubs and individual car enthusiasts across the region, attracting more than 1,000 sports cars and 5,000 visitors. Cars attending must be a roadster, a sporty car, modified or unusual or fun in some way. This year’s event is expected to bring together a wide range of prestigious car marques. Highlights will include the last surviving ‘Brighouse Bugatti,’ a 1928 two-seater sports car manufactured in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, as well as a rare LaFerrari, Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT.
Among the other exhibits will be a large variety of sports cars including Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, McLaren, Lotus and TVR. The displays range from new BMW and Audi cars to classics like the Ford Cosworth and Minis. There will also be several Hybrid and electric cars. A range of trade stands add to a great family day out.
Entry to Newby’s award-winning gardens, adventure playground, dolls house and teddy bear exhibitions is included in the admission price.
Newby Hall is one of the UK’s finest Adam houses and is internationally celebrated as one of the largest and most complete surviving Chippendale interiors. Its 25 acres of gardens include one of Europe’s largest double herbaceous borders, an enchanted woodland walk and a miniature railway. Gates open from 10am to 4pm Ticket prices are - adults £18 and children (aged 4-15) £15 (under 4’s free), family ticket £56.
