Harrogate Film Society presents Hive (15 | Kosovo | Subtitled) at the Odeon.

Hive is a 2021 Kosovar drama film written and directed by Blerta Basholli in her directorial debut. The film stars Yllka Gashi, Çun Lajçi and Aurita Agushi.

A searing drama based on the true story of Fahrije, whose husband went missing during the war in Kosovo. Widows are not expected to work but she has to provide for her family and joins forces with other widows to start a business. The village men condemn Fahrije's efforts to launch a business selling a local food product, starting a feud that threatens the financial future of her family. Hive is a pithy, devastating portrait of loss and a journey to freedom.

Entry is free for members. Tickets for non-members cost £6 each (Students 16 -19 £3). These can be purchased online here or will be available on the door (contactless payments only please, we are not taking cash this season). A small processing fee will be applied to all tickets.

All seating is unreserved. Doors open at 7pm and the film will begin at 7.30pm
