a bunch of amateurs Presented by Harrogate Film Society & Harrogate Odeon
Documentary | 2022 | 95 mins | unclassified |
Bradford Movie Makers is one of the oldest amateur filmmaking clubs in the world. Once a thriving community, these days the membership is dwindling and the group struggle to keep the wolf from the door.
An award winning, “ breakthrough, hit, film”, about the members of Britain’s oldest filmmaking club. It is truly original, quietly hilarious, and totally inspiring. The film is a “joyous and heartbreaking celebration of film-making passion. The audience becomes quickly involved in the practical challenges facing the filmmakers, as well as the challenges of life, love and loss we all face. It is ultimately uplifting and pays testimony to the power of community, shared interests and deep and lasting friendship.
Your ticket price will include tea/coffee and biscuits and free entry into a draw for 4 complimentary tickets to the Odeon. A small processing fee will be applied to all tickets. These can be purchased online or will be available on the door (contactless payments only please, we are not taking cash this season).
The film will be followed by a Q&A with The Producer, The Director and some of the cast.
Please note that doors open at 6.30pm but the film will start at 7pm. All seating is unreserved so grab a seat wherever you like.
Parking is free after 6pm for all Odeon cinema-goers but you MUST display a voucher obtained from the Odeon lobby.
