Start your 2023 Christmas in Harrogate and you will be treated to the sights, sounds and smells of a traditional festive market. Extended to three weeks, the Harrogate Christmas Fayre is the perfect place to start your Christmas shopping with over 50 local and European traders selling everything from unique handmade gifts to tasty treats.
Live carol singing and entertainment will fill the air making for a magical Christmas atmosphere you can soak up whilst enjoying a tasty treat from one of the many stalls in the market, or in one of Harrogate’s many bars, cafés or restaurants.
Just a short walk away you will find the Little Bird Market in Valley Gardens. This artisan market is a must-visit during the first three weekends of December. Browse a range of distinctive products from local, independent traders that are perfect stocking fillers for family and friends.

Christmas at Harrogate Horticultural Nursery
25 November - 19 December
The floral engine room behind Harrogate's reputation for horticultural splendour embraces the festive spirit with gusto this year. Kicking things off in an Artisan Christmas Market on 25 November that will fill the cosy polytunnel with gifts, decorations and food & drink. This Saturday also marks the beginning of the Christmas plant sale of their incredible Poinsettias. Grown on site, these plants have never been out of their ideal growing conditions meaning they will continue to shine through the Christmas season and right through to spring!
The nursery is also hosting a series of wreath-making workshops beginning on 25 November and running right through to 17 December.
Country Living Christmas Fair

The event features tailored tasting sessions, a vibrant food hall and a huge array of unique gifts from the UK’s leading crafters, as well as designers, and artisans - all taking place undercover in Harrogate town centre.

Father Christmas Experience
2 - 24 December
Tinsel the chief elf, is training prospective new elves to help Father Christmas deliver the most important night of the year. The Father Christmas Experience is hosted at the Cedar Court Hotel, families can will be invited to visit the Elf Village, explore the Forest of Enchanted Wishes and then have a sing-along with the elves before meeting Father Christmas himself.
On 21 & 22 December Codebreaker's Christmas, a new 'escape room' style challenge allows young ones to help the elves solve the puzzle and find Santa so Christmas can be saved!
