About Ripon City Wetlands Nature Reserve
The Ripon City Wetlands, located just south of Ripon, is a peaceful haven for nature lovers. This former quarry has transformed into a thriving reserve home to birds, wildlife, and changing seasonal sights. Regular species include bitterns, avocets, plovers, and kingfishers, while otters and damselflies can also be spotted. A trail leads visitors from the car park to the canal for further exploration. Note: the car park is closed on race days, and dogs are not permitted.
