How Stean Gorge is a great place to meet up and spend time with family and friends. The camp site is nestled in one of England's 5 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Nidderdale, Yorkshire Dales. Few campsites offer scenic views with our fantastic range of outdoor activities. With only 20 large pitches, we offer plenty of space in the camp site for playing games. At night, the moon and stars are your only light so please bring a torch!

Things to do:

Only a few metres away you can wonder through the ravine and caves or take part in outdoor activities with qualified and friendly instructors. Choose from a via ferrata course (one of only 3 in England), gorge walking/abseiling, caving and canoeing or do the Big 5 – all of them in one day!

Bunk Barn, Scar House Reservoir

This homely Bunk Barn sleeps up to 18 guests and boasts stunning views over the Reservoir, Nidderdale and Little Whernside mountain. Originally built in World War II as a base for the home guard, makes it ideal for large family and friend group getaways. Facilities:

Fenced garden area with BBQ/picnic bench
