About Richmond

Dominating the Market Place is the Norman castle. Riverside walks lead to the waterfall, the restored Victorian station, now a café bar with 3-screen cinema and artisan shops, on to C12th Easby Abbey and C12th century Saint Agatha’s Church, with rare C13th wall paintings. Walks abound, including the disused Georgian racecourse with marvellous views. MayFest brings a weekend of music in early May and in September the Walking and Book Festival is held. The Georgian Theatre Royal offers a full programme. Garden Cottage is just a short drive from the Dales and less than 10 minutes from the A1M and A66 for days out further afield.
