Remember, remember the 5th of November…
As we say goodbye to October, thoughts turn to the cosiness of November with crisp morning walks, hot chocolates by the fire and, of course, toasty bonfires and spectacular firework displays.
The Harrogate district has many displays taking place this weekend and here is our round-up of the best ones.
Ripon Rowels Rotary Charity Bonfire and Firework Display
Taking place on Friday 3 November at Ripon Racecourse, The Ripon City Bonfire event starts at 5.30pm followed by the lighting of the bonfire at 7pm and the firework display at 7.30pm. Tickets can be bought in advance and are also available on the gate.
Stray Bonfire and Firework Display, Harrogate
The annual bonfire & firework display on Oatlands Stray in Harrogate starts at 5pm on Saturday 4 November with family-friendly entertainment and live music on the stage starting at 5pm.
Grab a bite to eat at one of the food stalls or a drink from the bar. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the firework display will start at 7.15pm. Free event with donations going to the Harrogate Homeless Project.
Upper Nidderdale Scouts Group Pateley Bonfire and Fireworks
Held at the Pateley Showground in Pateley Bridge on Saturday 4 November, the event starts at 6pm with a torch-lit procession and the lighting of the bonfire at 6.30pm. Enjoy pulled pork, hot dogs and s’mores whilst cosying up to the bonfire, plus enter the best Guy competition.
Bring your Guy along on the day before 6pm for the chance to win a prize. The evening ends with the firework display at 7pm. Unfortunately, no sparklers allowed. Entry by donation.
Masham Bonfire and Firework Display
Held at the Recreation Ground on Saturday 4 November, Bonfire Night in Masham starts at 5.30pm with the firework display at 7pm. Enjoy tasty bonfire food, hot and cold drinks and mulled cider. Free event.
Yolk Farm Bonfire and Burger Night
Yolk Farm at Minskip near Boroughbridge invites you to a bonfire and burger night on Saturday 4 November from 5.30pm. Gather around the bonfire which is lit at 6.30pm. As there are no fireworks, this is a dog-friendly event.
