For locally sourced, farm fresh afternoon tea head to Fodder at the Great Yorkshire Showground, where the countryside views are as enjoyable as the flavours on offer. 

If your family day out centres around a walk there are many beautiful and remarkable routes to enjoy together in the Harrogate district. 

RHS Garden Harlow Carr is stunning all year round but it's especially welcoming to explore the 58 acres of varied planting, meandering pathways and gentle waterways when the winter months have just left us.

The Harrogate district is lucky to have some of the most colourful and immaculately kept public parks and gardens. You can stroll like a Victorian lady in Valley Gardens, keep watch from a medieval castle at Knaresborough Castle and Bebra Gardens, and find creatures from popular children's literature in Ripon Spa Gardens.

Venturing further afield you will find the breathtaking Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden, a World Heritage Site, with acres of landscape for walking, ruins to explore, a deer park and of course a tea shop for well earned refreshments.
