Home of Flower Shows

The Harrogate district is home to a wide range of spectacular gardens, parks and outdoor spaces which inspire the horticulturalists, gardeners and florists who visit them. Several times a year shows are held to celebrate all things floral and garden related where like-minded people can exchange ideas, admire stunning displays and show gardens, buy seeds, plants and gardening paraphernalia and enjoy a day out filled with beauty, flowers and friendship.

The first show of the year is the Harrogate Spring Flower Show held at the home of the Great Yorkshire Show on the outskirts of Harrogate from 21st – 24th April. Be inspired by the designer show gardens, shop from the plant nurseries and see Britain’s biggest display by flower arrangers and florists. Watch live demonstrations by TV cook and chef consultant Stephanie Moon, grow-your-own guru Martin Walker and celebrity floral designer Jonathan Moseley. With indoor and outdoor stalls to browse and a tempting range of catering options you will be kept busy. We recommend arriving on the shuttle bus from Harrogate town centre giving you the opportunity to see the beautiful cherry blossom on The Stray that should be in full bloom at this time.

In the summer, RHS Harlow Carr holds a Flower Show giving you the opportunity to visit this beautiful 58 acre garden, watch demonstrations, buy plants, listen to live music and relax. Whether you are looking for a fun day out, are keen to improve your gardening skills or are looking to buy a specific plant you will enjoy this summer outdoor flower show.
