Royal Hall Open Days

Known as “Harrogate's Glittering Palace of Gold” this stunning theatre is open to the public on a few rare days a year so you can view its magical interior. A guided tour will enlighten you to the fascinating history from completion in 1903 to present day. Pre-booking is advised to avoid disappointment.  The Royal Hall is open open from 10am to 4pm on 20 October,with guided tours taking place at 11am and 2pm

Harrogate Comedy Festival

For the 13th year, visitors to Harrogate will be enjoying the one-liners, puns, anecdotes and witticisms of well-known and up-and-coming comics as the sound of laughter raises the roofs of venues across the town.  Harrogate Comedy Festival takes place at Harrogate Theatre from 4 to 16 October 2022.

Freedom - Joe McElderry honours George Michael in concert

For fans of the late, great George Michael or X Factor winner, Joe McElderry, this celebratory concert is bound to be a huge hit. Joe is performing some of George Michael’s biggest numbers on this tour of England, Scotland and Wales and comes to Harrogate on Saturday 8 October.

Raworths Harrogate Literature Festival

This renowned literature festival returns between Thursday 20 and Sunday 23 October for its tenth chapter in Harrogate featuring well-known characters from Susie Dent and Lady Hale to Ronnie Archer-Morgan and Robert Harris. With readings, talking heads, a family book trail and even a run there is something for everyone.

Glow - Winter Illuminations at RHS Garden Harlow Carr

One of the most magical events of the season is the chance to walk around the gardens of RHS Harlow Carr after dark when the plants, lake and sculptures are colourfully illuminated with stunning light installations. It is breathtakingly beautiful and brings a whole new atmosphere and level of appreciation to a favourite destination. New for this year are ambient sounds and synchronised dancing lights. This popular event must be booked in advance.

Fountains

Music and Lights at Fountains Abbey

Wander through the vaulted cellarium of the majestic abbey where a rainbow of colours glows every afternoon and from 2-3 pm live bands and choirs fill the space with music. As the natural light fades the whole abbey glows with the coloured lights and the music fills the valley.

Carols by Candlelight take place in the abbey on 4 and 11 December at 3pm, entry by ticket only, available from 1pm at the abbey.

Food, Glorious Foodie Food

Harrogate is thrilled to be hosting the Great White Food Festival from 28 - 30 October, with the incredibly talented celebrity chef Marco Pierre White returning to the spa town, where his career began 45 years ago. Come along and enjoy a wonderful celebration of all things foodie, with live cookery demonstrations and culinary masterclasses from some of the biggest names in top cuisine.
